- 2m cotton calico for the toile (mock up)
- 2.6m* of inexpensive nice fabric for second dress - non stretch, medium weight, smooth surface (there may be final tweaks to dress 2 so save your £25 a metre silk for the 3rd dress!!).
*if you are using a print fabric that has a repeat design or stripes buy an extra 50cm so we can pattern match it - 100m reel of good quality thread that matches the fabric (not the stuff from the bargain bin!)
- 25cm fusible medium to lightweight interfacing for facings
- 24" (26" if you are over 5'6" tall) invisible/concealed zip - buy here or here for 26" if can't find locally (Fabric Land sells up to 22" only)
- A pot of good quality steel dressmaking pins (we sell pots for £3.50..never buy chinese pins online, they are rough and ruin your fabric!)
- Glasses if you need them for close up work
- wear the bra you will wear with the finished dress to every class
- We provide: sewing machine (or bring your own if you prefer), scissors, pins, chalk, tape measure etc if you don’t have your own
- Plus:
- Wash and iron your fabric before the class if it has cotton content
- Wear fitted leggings or thin trousers or tights and a thin-ish vest under your clothes (not too tight though as they act like a corset changing your body shape!) plus the same bra every week. This is so you can measure yourself easily and try the dress on part way through
