What to bring to make this Silky Fabric Camisole
(option to make longer into knee length slip dress)
Fabric types: cotton voile, lawn or poplin. Silk, slipper satin, viscose
- Fabric for making garment and to make your own bias binding:
- if fabric under 149cm wide bring 1.75m fabric for cami & 2.45m for slip dress*
- if fabric 150cm or wider bring 1.45m fabric for cami and 1.95m for slip dress*
n.b.* allows for a garment length from shoulder up to 75cm for cami and up to 105cm for slip dress - optional: 2m lace trim to put lace on just the hem & additional 1m for lace on top edge too
- a 100 m reel of good quality sewing thread, polyester or cotton eg Coats, Moon, Guterman
- Fine steel dressmaking pins
- 50p in case you want to keep your bobbin with leftover thread on it
- £1 if you want to trace off a copy of the pattern onto card to take home (makes it quick to trace rounnd onto paper if you want to use this pattern aas a 'block' (template pattern) to redesign into other tops later)
- If you wear glasses for close up work please bring them
Important: All fabric for projects needs washing and ironing before class (unless it is 100% polyester, nylon, PU/PVC/Oilcloth, or the finished item will never be washed/only dry cleaned). Check fabric content and any washing/ironing instructions when purchasing fabric. Many delicate fabrics are dry clean only as they stiffen up and/or shrink when put in water
