Always wanted to make your own clothes but not sure where to start? Or have you already made some garments but need some help with technique? This 3-week course is for you! Make a great fitting garment from a bought sewing pattern, with our full support

Course summary: Over three five-hour sessions, our tutor Jo will be on hand with expert guidance as you create your garment from a pattern of your choice. No need to fear tricky techniques like zips or sleeves, we’ll be here to show you how! We'll teach you the basics of tissue fitting your pattern to your body shape, then cutting out & making the entire garment.
Type of pattern to bring: Learn at your own pace - what you can complete in three weeks will depend on the complexity of your garment and how fast you work! As an example, those fairly new to sewing clothes can expect to complete a straightforward A-line skirt or simple top or unfitted unlined dress to a good standard in this time. Fast stitchers or those doing homework between sessions can complete more detailed garments. If you don’t complete your garment on the course, our Stitch Sewing & Dressmaking Classes can help you take it to completion! They run several times a week all year round, and can be booked individually or block purchased to save money.
Skills we will cover: Using a pattern, tissue fitting a pattern, understanding pattern instructions, constructing a garment, making adjustments for fit.
Price: £127 - or £139 with Early Bird Saving, available when you book up to 1 month before course starts.
