An Absolute Beginner to machine sewing?: On our Learn to Use a Sewing Machine programme you'll learn how to thread up a sewing machine, wind bobbins, sew to a set seam allowance and zig zag edges, put in a zip and lots more - all the essential sewing and dressmaking skills! You'll make an easy cushion cover to practise your stitching techniques & a purse to practise dressmaking zips and darts.
You can do this in our weekly sewing classes on flexible days and times (pick your own dates) in which you can learn to sew as a complete beginner, plus we run the Ultimate Beginners Sewing Day every couple of months - check out all our beginner courses here

Fabric, sewing machines, sewing class location:

In all our classes & courses you can bring your own machine or borrow ours.
Fabric for beginner projects like bags, cushions, purses can be brought along or purchased in class.
Classes are held in our fully equipped bright and spacious sewing classroom in central Hove, East Sussex, 10 minutes bus ride from central Brighton on the main bus route, or just 7 mins walk from Hove station
